The role

We are looking for an Automation Electrical Fitter to install, wire, modify, and troubleshoot the electrical aspects of special purpose machines and bespoke equipment in line with design, safety, and quality standards.       What you'll be doing   Modification of existing machines and equipment. Fault finding and repairs to equipment during commissioning and as required after installation. Receipt, recording and control of purchased parts from suppliers. Ordering, receipt and control of stock parts and consumables e.g. cable, terminal strips, etc. Assist the commissioning of new and modified machinery to ensure correct functionality and performance. Support the delivery of projects to ensure that operational and production requirements are fulfilled and key milestones are achieved. Assist with maintenance training during machine handover. Contribute to discussions and brainstorming for proposals for new machines and modifications. Support maintenance with regard to fault finding and repair when required. Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings for machinery. Install and wire control panels, motors, sensors, HMIs, PLCs, and safety devices on bespoke and standard machinery. Undertake panel/build wiring, machine wiring, and integration with automation systems. Support the electrical commissioning of machinery, including dry and wet testing and I/O checks. Assist with the setup, calibration, and adjustment of equipment as required. Ensure all work is performed in line with company, legal, and industry safety standards (e.g., BS7671, PUWER, CE Marking/UKCA). Maintain accurate electrical documentation and as-built wiring diagrams. Participate in risk assessments and safety-related discussions. Provide technical input to the design team for future projects and feedback from commissioning and maintenance activities. Identify opportunities for cost and efficiency improvements. Ensure that stock parts and consumables are available when required Ensure that detail of all modifications is fed back to the design and commissioning engineers so drawings can be updated Ensure that all documentation supplied with purchased parts is stored so that it can be passed to the user on machine handover.   Who we are looking for   To apply we ask that you are a time-served and qualified electrician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation / Engineering).   You will have experience working with special purpose machinery within manufacturing, automation, or engineering environments. Practical experience with control panels, PLC wiring, HMIs, safety relays, and field instrumentation is essential. You must be positive, have a can-do attitude and communicate effectively across all levels internally and externally.   You will be self-motivated, capable of working independently, taking initiative and well-organised. The role

We are looking for a Controls and Commissioning Engineer who will have technical responsibility for the design and development of the controls for machinery, equipment and processes that are produced or modified by the automation engineering department.     What you'll be doing: Design the controls for manufacturing machines, assembly machines, robot cells and other equipment Produce electrical drawings and parts lists for machine control systems Produce safety matrix and safety assessments Write PLC software and program integrated equipment including HMIs, PCs, vision systems, servo drives, sensor, instrumentation etc Develop commissioning plans, testing methods and buy-off records with detailed activities and key milestones Commission the control systems for new machinery and modified machinery including safety checks, I/O checks, function checks and performance checks Support the delivery of projects to ensure that operational and production requirements are fulfilled and key milestones are achieved Provide engineering expertise for machine concepts and costing Develop control concepts and write control specifications and functional specifications Provide design concepts, new ideas and solutions for the control systems for new and existing production equipment Raise purchase requisitions for control equipment Compile the documentation for machines including controls input to the user manual Liaise with the project manager to enable the development of project plans with key milestones. Ensure that all machinery supplied or modified is safe and in accordance with EC and UK regulations, harmonised standards, GAMP guidance and CMP standards Develop the software and control systems for machines during commissioning in a structured and controlled way Ensure all software and design drawings are up to date and backups are to the latest revision Ensure all of the information required for the construction of a technical file is stored correctly. Ensure that all of the electrical and safety testing is completed and signed off before hand over of the machine Ensure that all machinery supplied is energy efficient and does not cause environmental issues Ensure that the controls aspects of projects are delivered on time and within budget    Who we are looking for    To apply we ask that you preferably hold a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Process Engineering, or a related field, or be a time-served apprentice with significant relevant experience.   You will demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude and foster strong, effective communication both within your department and across the wider organisation and externally. The role

You must also have direct experience in internal auditing to ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001 standards and hold relevant qualifications as either an internal or lead auditor.   Excellent communication skills are vital, with the ability to present information clearly, make logical and timely decisions, and effectively influence and motivate others. You will be fully computer literate, confident using a range of software systems, and able to manage your time effectively while working independently and solving problems as they arise. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills are fundamental to success in this role.   A NEBOSH or NCRQ Diploma is preferred or working towards achieving this qualification. The role
